Do you know this? You want to make a decision, but there are these voices in your head that make you doubt or push you in a certain direction? In my coaching sessions, I repeatedly encounter four typical inner voices - greatly simplified, but still often very apt:
1. The People Pleaser – “How can I please everyone?”
This inner voice is constantly worried about what others think. The people pleaser wants to maintain harmony, avoid conflict and gain recognition. But he often forgets his own needs.
2. The Day Dreamer – “What if…?”
Big dreams and many "what if" thoughts drive him. But instead of taking action, he often remains stuck in his daydreams. But change doesn't start in the head, it starts in action.
3. The Commander – “I know better!”
This voice is dominant, energetic and full of conviction. It gives clear instructions - but sometimes it is also too stubborn. Those who always want to be right not only make friends, but may also miss out on valuable input from others.
4. The Over Thinker – “Is this really good enough?”
Doubt, pondering, questioning – the overthinker is looking for perfection and security. This can protect, but it can also paralyze. Sometimes it is better to jump in at the deep end than to spend ages working on the perfect solution.
Which of these voices do you recognize in yourself? And more importantly: How can you learn to consciously perceive them and bring them into balance?
In my coaching, I support you in better understanding your inner voice and courageously following your own path.
